Azim Afroozeh defended his Ph.D. thesis entitled FastLanes: A Next-Gen File Format on January 9 2026. Azim Afroozeh will receive his Ph.D. in computer science from Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. He was supervised by professor Peter Boncz. The examiners were Daniel Lemire, Viktor Leis, and Pinar Tözün.
